How Polynesians navigate
How many kilometres make up the Pacific Ocean: The Pacific Ocean was approximately 160 million kilometres.
What did ancient Polynesians use as guides to see the ocean: The Polynesians used the sun, moon, stars, ocean currents, and clouds as their guides in the ocean.
When did their voyages begin: The Polynesians began their voyages in the early 1500 BC
What factors were important to the success of travelling: The importance of success of travelling well built canoes the skill of navigators and the weather
What are Navigators: Navigators are people who are familiar with directions and have the ability to read and memorise the flock of birds and the stars.

Poi Rakau
Poi Rakau is a game where everyone is in a circle and has sticks, there is one person that calls either "Whaka te Maui" or Whaka te Matou. if the person says Whaka te Maui everyone lets go of their sticks and try and catch the stick to the left of them, and if the person says Whaka te Matou the same thing happens except you go to the right.
